How to make "Daigaku Imo", caramelized sweet potato (大学芋)

"Daigaku Imo" is loved by everyone in Japan.  It's easy to cook! Try this recipe.  


Ingredients:

 1-2 sweet potatoes (400g)
 5 Tbs sugar
 1 Tbs mirin
 3 Tbs water
 1 tsp soy sauce
black sesame


Procedure:

1. Cut sweet potatoes into bite size.  Put it in water for at least 10 min.



2. Put sugar, mirin, water, and soy sauce in a pan and simmer it over middle heat for a while until it is half thickened and a little sticky.


3.  Drain water and dry the sweet potatoes.  Deep fry sweet potatoes.




4.  Put sweet potatoes into the pan, and cover the surface of the potatoes with sugar and soy sauce.


5.  Sprinkle some black sesame, and serve it.



 Finish!  Also good for Bento!
