Kimchi Hot Pot キムチ鍋

Kimchi Pot is a very healthy-and-tasty dish that we often eat in Japan especially in winter.  You can put into the pot anything you like or anything you have in the fridge.  My family’s favorite ingredient is bean sprout.

キムチ鍋は、日本人は特に冬によく食べるもので、体に優しくとっても美味しいです。好きなもの、冷蔵庫にあるものを何でも入れて食べると良いですよ。我が家のお気に入りの具は、もやしです。


Ingredients (Serves 4, large-size pan)

200g Kimchi (1/2 lb, 1 cup)

200g sliced pork belly (1/2 lb)

2 blocks firm tofu (cut into bite size)

2 cups soup stock (or water)

Any kind of vegetables (bean sprout, spring onion, scallion, green pepper, cabbage, etc.)

  

Procedure

1. Put soup stock and Kimchi in a pan.  Heat it until it comes to boil, lower the heat, add Tofu and vegetables.  

2. Finally put sliced pork gently one by one in the soup.  Place a lid and simmer for several
